Description
Position Summary – 4th Grade Teacher (Springdale Elementary): The Mary Walker School District is seeking a highly qualified, collaborative, and student-centered educator to serve as a 4th Grade Teacher at Springdale Elementary for the remainder of the 2025–2026 school year. The successful candidate will work under the general supervision of the building principal and will support student growth in both academic achievement and social-emotional development through the implementation of district-aligned curriculum and instructional practices.
This position is responsible for creating a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment that meets the diverse needs of all learners. The teacher will design and deliver standards-based instruction in core subject areas, utilize ongoing assessment to guide instruction, and differentiate learning experiences to support individual student needs.
Additional responsibilities include maintaining clear and consistent communication with students, families, and staff; monitoring and documenting student progress; participating in Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) and collaborative staff work; and contributing to a safe and supportive school culture. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to building strong relationships, fostering a growth mindset in students, and supporting the overall mission and vision of the Mary Walker School District.
Requirements
Qualifications - 4th Grade Teacher (Springdale Elementary)
Successful candidates are educators who inspire curiosity, engagement, and a love of learning in elementary students
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with an Elementary Education endorsement (or ability to obtain prior to start date)
Demonstrated experience teaching elementary students, preferably at the upper elementary level (grades 3–5)
Strong knowledge of elementary core content areas including literacy, mathematics, science, and social studies
Ability to design and deliver standards-based instruction that meets the diverse academic and developmental needs of students
Understanding of child development, particularly the academic and social-emotional needs of upper elementary learners
Skill in creating a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment with effective classroom management practices
Experience using a variety of instructional strategies and assessment methods to monitor and support student learning
Familiarity with frameworks such as Understanding by Design (UbD) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Ability to differentiate instruction and provide targeted support and enrichment for students at varying levels
Commitment to culturally responsive teaching and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population
Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Ability to collaborate effectively within grade-level teams and Professional Learning Teams (PLTs)
Proficiency with educational technology and willingness to integrate technology to enhance instruction
Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and ability to maintain confidentiality
Evidence of ongoing professional learning and growth
Willingness to contribute to the school community beyond the classroom
Other duties as assigned by the building principal and/or district administration
