Bachelor's degree in counseling or a related field and 2 years of professional experience

Position Summary
Assist in the development and implementation of all services related to academic planning, academic support, academic major and career counseling, academic monitoring and personal development for student-athletes. Ensures compliance with NCAA, SEC, and institutional rules compliance in the area of academic counseling.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
- Ability to monitor students progress and coordinate their class schedules, tutorial sessions, and development.
- Ability to communicate with coaches, students, tutors, and professors.
- Ability to provide academic support and counseling in regard to students' courses and progress towards graduation.
- Strong communication skills

Duties/Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary academic counselor for Football (WR/TE/QB) & MW Golf.
- Monitor academic progress of student-athletes, including weekly meetings with student-athlete, daily monitoring of class attendance, academic appointment attendance, and grades.
- Daily communication with students, coaches, instructors, administrations, parents, and guardians with regard to students' progress toward degree and eligibility.
- Assist in developing and implementing all services related to academic planning, academic support, major selection, career counseling, academic monitoring, and personal development of student-athletes.
- Ensure compliance with UGA, UGAAA, SEC, and NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to the areas of academic honesty, progress toward degree, and eligibility.
- Participate in student-athlete recruiting events & faculty engagement events, including some evenings and weekends throughout the year.
- Ensure compliance with NCAA, SEC, and institutional rules and regulations pertaining to the area of academic advising.
- Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Academic Counseling.
