Description
The University of Pittsburgh School of Law invites applications for an adjunct faculty position to teach Prison Law and Litigation for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Course Description: PRISON LAW & LITIGATION - LAW 5966 - 3 credits - Fall 2026 and Spring 2027
This course will cover the fundamentals of prison law and litigation. It will consist of a course component and a quasi-clinical component of writing briefs/memos and strategy discussion on complex, actual federal prison litigation.
Responsibilities:
Provide classroom instruction
Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
Hold office hours and meet with students
Communicate with students as needed
Follow Law School and University policies
Salary: $2,500 per credit
Qualifications: J.D. degree from an accredited law school; significant experience in prison law and litigation; prior teaching or training experience is preferred, but not required.
