What You Will Do
- Serve as a professional admissions officer for domestic graduate, international graduate, and international undergraduate applicants.
- Verify, interpret, review, and evaluate applications and required documentation for University admission and specific program criteria.
- Counsel and advise applicants, staff, and parents on admission requirements, criteria, financial calculations, eligibility, policies, and procedures.
- Function as a Designated School Official and evaluate international educational systems, analyze course content, calculate GPAs, and interpret international credentials.
- Compose written materials and conduct extensive correspondence with applicants about requirements and application status.
- Enter, review, interpret, update, and retrieve data in Banner, Slate, document imaging, and related systems.
- Participate in team projects and perform additional duties supporting the department's mission to ensure efficient and accurate admission decisions.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
CREDENTIALS TO BE VERIFIED BY PLACEMENT OFFICER
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Any one or combination totaling three (3) years (36 months) from the categories below:
- course work in any discipline as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
- 30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
- 60 semester hours or an Associate's Degree equals eighteen months (18 months)
- 90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
- 120 semester hours or a Bachelor's degree equals three (3) years (36 months)
- work experience in administrative support, admissions and enrollment, customer service, public relations, records management, or closely related experience.
- course work in any discipline as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
Preferred Qualifications:
Baccalaureate degree and two years of related student records analysis work, records management work, or collegiate admissions work, one year of which must have been in the supervision of such work or at a comparable level of responsibility. Knowledge of University policies and procedures for the admission of graduate and international students. Should be self-motivated, detail-oriented, a reliable team member, possess customer service skills, able to to meet deadlines, have good oral and written skills, extensive research capabilities and intermediate technical computer capabilities. Ability to serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) as outlined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.
Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Driver's License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.
