The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford is currently seeking a Full-Time Assistant Professor of Biology (Tenure-Stream) in the Division of Biological & Health Sciences, beginning Fall 2026. Pitt-Bradford is a regional campus of the University of Pittsburgh located in scenic Northwestern PA. It is a beautiful, friendly campus with an emphasis on teaching. While faculty have the advantage of expansive resources and research opportunities available through the University of Pittsburgh system, they also enjoy one-on-one contact with their students in a secure, personalized environment.
Requirements: Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, or a related field, with a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates. Scholarship, advising, and service activities are required. Applied experience within the field of Biology and experience teaching at the university or collegiate level are preferred to support the Biology, Environmental Science, and Forensic Science programs. Experience in cell and molecular biology, genomics, bioinformatics, immunology, and/or microbiology is preferred.
Responsibilities: Applicants must be able to teach 12 credits per semester, in Biology, at the undergraduate level, while maintaining professional development and performing university service such as, such as research and serving on university committees. Course assignments will include introductory and general education lectures and/or labs in addition to upper-level courses in the candidate's area of expertise.
