- Assistant/Associate Professor of Exercise Science
Description
The Catawba College Department of Sport & Health Sciences invites applications for Assistant/Associate Professor of Exercise Science, starting date of Spring/Fall 2026. The candidate will provide instruction for a rapidly growing exercise science program. The position will require advising exercise science majors, coordinating internships and experiential learning, and curriculum maintenance.
Faculty will be responsible for didactic and clinical instruction using evidence-based methodology. The faculty will also be responsible for the recruitment and advisement of a diverse student population, and will be expected to serve on departmental committees, engage in scholarship and service activities of the College. Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required, (doctoral degree preferred) from an accredited institution
- Experience using a variety of instructional strategies, such as face-to-face delivery, online, hybrid, experiential learning, and field-based experiences to engage students with diverse experiences
- Demonstrate an ongoing commitment to quality teaching
- Incorporate active learning strategies and effectively use instructional technology to support classroom instruction
- Evidence of research in the field of exercise science and a strong promise for scholarly activity and professional service
- Remain current with new trends and developments in the field to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning through attendance at conferences, seminars and workshops
- A willingness to embrace working in an inter-disciplinary atmosphere
