Description
The San Bernardino County Museum is seeking an Associate Curator of Education to support the Curator of Education in overseeing the museum’s educational programs, school tours, and special events. This position will collaborate with the exhibits team to ensure interpretive materials are engaging, inclusive, and aligned with state content standards for diverse learning levels and styles. The Associate Curator of Education will also assist in managing the museum’s volunteer program—recruiting, training, scheduling, and coordinating volunteer activities—and may contribute to grant proposals and external marketing efforts that promote the museum’s educational mission.

The San Bernardino County Museum is located in Redlands, and was founded in 1952. The San Bernardino County Museum contains exhibits and collections in cultural history and natural history. As part of the museum experience, there are public programs available for adults, families, students, and children. The San Bernardino County Museum strives to develop visitors’ appreciation of the diverse regional identity to spark curiosity, stimulate inquiry, challenge assumptions, and invite their contributions to the County of San Bernardino future. Requirements
Minimum Requirements
EDUCATION: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Museum Studies, or closely related field.
-AND-
EXPERIENCE: One (1) year of full-time equivalent experience managing educational programs and/or teaching in a museum, art center, community center, or school. Experience must include the design and development of informal learning experiences for children and/or adults, which includes hands-on learning components.
