Job Summary
The Associate Dean - South Jordan Campus oversees all College of Pharmacy (COP) activity on the South Jordan Campus. This position provides vision and guidance in the strategic direction for the College of Pharmacy. This person also fulfills general faculty responsibilities including, but not limited to, teaching, service, and scholarship. The position requires flexibility, adaptability, and creativity. This person must demonstrate excellent communication skills and superior organization and customer service skills. This person must respond well to directives and have a commitment to the mission and continued development of the College of Pharmacy.
Essential Functions
- Develop a comprehensive Faculty and Staff Development Program for the College.
- Plays a role in the personnel recommendations for the College including the recruitment of new faculty.
- Makes efforts to identify, discuss and resolve issues and problems within the College focusing on the South Jordan Campus.
- Reviews the performance of those who report directly to them.
- Maintains an effective communications system among the administration, faculty, students and staff so that all points of view may be known before actions are taken.
- Serves as an advocate for the College.
- Ensures College’s compliance with all applicable accreditation standards.
- Provide input to be presented at the College of Pharmacy’s Executive Committee meetings.
- Represent the University and the College of Pharmacy to external stakeholders.
- Serve on College and University committees.
- Establish relationships with local, state, regional, and national pharmacy organizations.
- Develop, monitor the effectiveness of applicable policies and procedures related to the mission and goals of Roseman University and the COP, making changes where appropriate.
- Annually review, provide feedback, and comply with the applicable policies and procedures of the COP Student Handbook and University Catalog.
- Collaborate with COP faculty and administration to promote professionalism.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.
- Reliable and timely with the expectation of 40+ hour per week with an on-site presence based on business needs and in accordance with the University's flexible workplace policy.
Requirements
- Doctorate degree (PharmD, PhD, EdD, or other terminal degree) is required.
- Knowledge of college/school of pharmacy experiential education-related matters, including ACPE accreditation standards, CAPE outcomes, and federal and state laws.
- Demonstrated understanding and experience working with diverse populations.
- Excellent team building skills.
- Exceptional ability to develop and maintain relationships within and outside of the campus to enhance student learning.
