Description
This position provides leadership in the administration and compliance of federal Title IV financial aid programs, including Pell Grants, Direct Loans, and campus-based aid, ensuring full adherence to federal, state, and institutional regulations. The role oversees financial aid processing operations, eligibility monitoring (including Satisfactory Academic Progress), reporting, and audit coordination, while supporting enrollment goals through strategic aid packaging and clear student communications. A key responsibility is the management and supervision of the financial aid compliance team, including hiring, training, and guiding staff responsible for verification, eligibility review, loan programs, overawards, and Return of Title IV (R2T4) processes, while ensuring consistent application of complex and evolving regulations. The position also leads process improvement and automation efforts, maintains system integrity and data exchanges, and collaborates with campus and system partners to deliver efficient, compliant, and student-centered financial aid services.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred) in a related field, along with progressively responsible experience in financial aid administration, with demonstrated expertise in federal Title IV regulations and compliance. Strong knowledge of financial aid systems (such as Banner), data analysis, and regulatory reporting is essential. The successful candidate will have proven leadership and supervisory experience, excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret and implement complex policies while managing multiple priorities. Strong communication and collaboration skills are required to work effectively with students, staff, and campus partners. This position is based in-person in Fairbanks, Alaska, and requires regular on-site presence to effectively lead staff, manage operations, and collaborate across departments.
