Job DescriptionThe University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM), Department of Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation Science (PTRS) is recruiting for a 12-month, full-time, tenure track faculty position at the rank of Associate Professor. We seek outstanding applicants to support our entry level Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and PhD in Physical Rehabilitation Science programs teaching mission as well as supporting the laboratory research goals in collaboration with the University of Maryland's Medicine Institute for Neuroscience Discovery (UM-MIND).
Responsibilities include didactic instruction in areas of content expertise; participation in curriculum evaluation and development; engagement in scholarly activities; and service.
Rank and salary Expected rank for this position will be Associate Professor, however, final rank and tenure status will be commensurate with selected candidate's experience. Expected Salary Range: $125,000 to $160,000. The referenced salary range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. This salary range does not include all components of UMSOM PTRS faculty compensation program or pay from participation in UMSOM PTRS variable compensation programs. Therefore, the actual compensation paid to the selected candidate may vary from the salary range stated herein. For more information, please contact the hiring department.
The referenced salary range represents the minimum and maximum salaries for this position and is based on the University of Maryland School of Medicine's good faith belief at the time of posting. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered to the selected candidate may vary and will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, work experience, internal equity, market conditions, education/training and other factors, as reasonably determined by the University.

Qualifications
Qualifications include an academic Doctorate degree in neuroscience, biokinesiology, physiology, or rehabilitation science; eligibility for a Maryland Physical Therapy license; previous academic teaching experience; and the ability to work collaboratively and successfully with a variety of healthcare and research professionals. The candidate should have evidence of scholarly work in neuromotor rehabilitation.
Preferred qualifications include evidence of funded research in rehabilitation with neuromotor disorders, and strong methodological and conceptual skills.
