- Clinical Assistant Professor of Criminology
Description
The Department of Economics, Education, and Sociology at The Catholic University of America seeks to hire a Clinical Assistant Professor of Criminology to begin August of 2026. The ideal candidate must hold at least a master’s degree in criminology, criminal justice, or a related field, and have a strong professional background in the justice system, preferably with experience in law enforcement. Candidates should also demonstrate an appreciation for social science research and for criminology as a global issue. Finally, we invite candidates who can address social problems relating to crime and justice through the lens of Catholic Social Teaching, particularly principles of human dignity, justice, and solidarity.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will:
- Bring broad knowledge and expertise in criminology and criminal justice
- Be prepared to teach a wide variety of courses in an expanding department
- Engage with research and policy in criminal justice, integrating this knowledge into teaching and advising Contribute to student advising, recruitment, and mentoring, prioritizing both academic and professional development of students
