This Administrator II position supports the School's Department of Restorative Dentistry and Comprehensive Care working in a clinical department where third- and fourth-year student dentists treat patients with oversight and direction from faculty.

Job Summary
Supervises day-to-day operations of a small University academic unit and supervises team. Monitors budgets and performs associated financial duties. Assists in managing human resources actions and implementing procedures to streamline business operations. Monitors daily work progress and ensures compliance with policies and regulations. Oversees administrative duties and resolves routine issues.
Essential Functions
The incumbent will provide primary administrative support to the Chair of the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Comprehensive Care and secondary administrative support to approx. 40 faculty and 7 staff members assigned to the department. Duties demand the incumbent be well informed in issues of University and School organization, programs, policies, and regulations. The incumbent is expected to generate/manage effective office procedures. Additional duties include maintaining confidential information related to faculty, staff, and students; maintaining a departmental database of departmental spending, authorizing Panther Express supply orders; scheduling departmental meetings; executing tasks and meeting deadlines in accordance with University and School policy requiring the timely acquisition of information from departmental employees i.e. managing/completing departmental and clinical credentialing, and annual evaluations. The incumbent must also represent/communicate knowledge of all departmental occurrences to include providing appropriate response to a steady flow of inquiries from the employees assigned to the department. The incumbent is also expected to maintain the professional schedules of the Chair. In addition, reimbursements and expense reporting (Concur) of departmental employees. Additional responsibilities include approving the time records (Pittworx) of departmental staff members assigned to the department. Overall, this person must function as the initial go-to- person in the largest department at the School of Dental Medicine.
Incumbent will be responsible ordering supplies patient care clinical areas, must monitor expenditures and prepare the necessary documentation for review and approval by the department Chair.

Physical Effort
The position is not sedentary. It does require walking involving delivering of material and mail to faculty, staff, students, residents, or other departments within the school. Departmental offices are located on multiple separate floors of Salk Annex. Standing is required. Lifting is required at times.
