Job Summary
The Education Policy Manager plays a central role in coordinating and driving the delivery of policy-focused reforms across early grade education systems in Jordan. Working closely with the Education Policy Advisor and Senior Policy & Systems Manager, the Education Policy Manager ensures that policy activities, pilots, consultations, and technical outputs are delivered on schedule and to high standards. The Manager oversees day-to-day progress across pre-service and in-service reform workstreams—including teacher preparation, licensing, higher education quality assurance, and accountability mechanisms—and ensures coherence, documentation, and strong stakeholder follow-through.

Knowledge & Skills:
- Outstanding verbal and written communication, interpersonal and cross-cultural skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with team members, partner organizations, and stakeholders.
- Experience working with or within Jordanian government institutions.
- Strong policy writing and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with education quality assurance, workforce development, or higher education reform
- Ability to navigate sensitive political and institutional contexts with diplomacy and discretion.
Requirements:
- Master's degree in education, public policy, international development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in education policy, public sector reform, or systems strengthening.
- Demonstrated familiarity with Jordan's education system, including teacher preparation, licensing, higher education governance, and school accountability.
- Experience overseeing consultants, research partners, and policy organizations.
- Demonstrated success engaging senior-level government counterparts.
- Must demonstrate valid proof of unrestricted authorization to work in Jordan.
Your Daily Tasks
- Lead day-to-day planning, implementation, and workflow management for policy reform activities.
- Develop and manage detailed workplans, risk logs, consultation calendars, and task trackers.
- Supervise and mentor the Senior Education Policy Officer and junior staff.
- Oversee preparation of technical meetings, workshops, and working groups.
- Review and quality-check deliverables, drafts, TORs, and consultant outputs.
- Coordinate with MEL, procurement, communications, and operations teams.
- Consolidate technical inputs for donor reports and workplan updates.
- Track and report progress against policy indicators, milestones, and learning questions.
