The American Water Works Association (AWWA) is the authoritative resource on safe water, providing knowledge, information and advocacy to improve the quality and supply of water in North America and beyond. AWWA advances public health, safety and welfare by uniting efforts of the full spectrum of the water community.
AWWA supports its mission through the development and delivery of drinking water treatment and distribution operator education. This education meets the water sector need-to-know criteria and contributes to water operator certification and licensure.
AWWA would like to secure a part-time/temporary education professional with drinking water treatment operations experience and experience in building and delivering operator training materials. This involves applying education principles to existing operator technical content to develop training materials that meet established need-to-know criteria. Deliverables include training slide decks, participant, and facilitator guides for a 9 subject/15 hours/2-day drinking water operator training course.
Requirements
Education/Experience/Skills required:
- Water treatment operation experience strongly preferred
- Water operator training delivery or development experience.
- Intermediate computer skills, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
- Excellent communication skills
- Self-directed; able to work independently and as a member of a team and to foster a positive work environment.
- Demonstrated time management skills and ability to work independently, handle multiple priorities with shifting time frames, and meet deadlines; high degree of initiative, urgency, and follow through
- Interested applicants will be asked to provide a portfolio of educational and training materials
Compensation & Benefits:
- $24 to $28 per hour depending on experience
- Not eligible for benefits
