Position Overview
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a full-time Research Assistant Professor with a Ph.D. in a relevant field such as psychology, neuroscience, physiology, epidemiology, public health, or related disciplines. We are especially interested in candidates with a demonstrated commitment to advancing research in women's health, such as in areas related to mental health, cardiovascular health, brain health, or reproductive health.
This in-person position is ideal for researchers who are passionate about collaborative science and eager to contribute to a dynamic and interdisciplinary research environment. We value candidates who show initiative in project management, teamwork, and scholarly productivity. Experience in conducting human subjects research is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to and help direct ongoing research programs focused on menopause and women's mental and physical health
- Collaborate across departments and disciplines to support large-scale studies
- Lead or assist with project coordination, data analysis, manuscript preparation, and grant development
- Engage in mentoring and training activities
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, Epidemiology, Physiology, Public Health, or a related field
- Experience in women's health and human subject research
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Interest in collaborative research and project management
- Commitment to advancing women's health through rigorous and inclusive scientific inquiry
