Your new role
Are you passionate about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education and cultural inclusion? This is a unique opportunity to join a values-driven education organisation as a Teaching and Learning Officer in Aboriginal Education, where you'll help shape culturally responsive learning environments and support student success across a diverse school network.
As part of the Teaching and Learning Team, you'll work alongside an Aboriginal Education Support Officer to support schools, educators, students, and families.

You will:

Provide expert advice on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education, cultural responsiveness, and community protocols.

Develop and implement culturally safe and responsive school initiatives.

Support teachers in embedding Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures into the curriculum.

Coordinate major cultural events such as NAIDOC Week, Sorry Day, and Reconciliation Week.

Build strong relationships with families, local organisations, and Elders.

Mentor Aboriginal Education Workers and support professional development across schools.

Contribute to system-wide improvement through tailored learning programs and strategic input.

What you'll need to succeed
This is an identified position open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Peoples under section 33B of the Discrimination Act 1991 (ACT).

You will bring:

A Bachelor's degree in Education or equivalent, including relevant postgraduate qualifications.

Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Experience supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in educational settings.

Ability to travel across regions to collaborate with school leaders and staff.

Current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and Working with Children Check (WWCC) registrations.

A valid driver's licence.
