Louisiana Tech University seeks a full-time, non-tenured track, 9-month instructor in the Department of
Kinesiology starting September 1, 2026. The primary focus of this role is teaching undergraduate courses in kinesiology and providing service to the department, college, and university. The Department of Kinesiology emphasizes hands-on learning, internships, and student engagement to prepare graduates for careers in kinesiology.
Instructor Responsibilities: The primary responsibility will be to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in the Department of Kinesiology. Based on the candidate's area of expertise, classes to be taught include courses in Kinesiology and Health Sciences and Exercise and Health Promotion majors. Potential courses include Personnel and Community Health, Preventive Health and Wellness, Dance Appreciation, First Aid and CPR, Foundations of Kinesiology, Sports and Recreational Activities, Youth Fitness Programming, Health Coaching, Advanced Health Coaching, Facility Management, Adapted Physical Activity, and Sports and Society. Additionally, the candidate will be expected to teach a senior adult fitness course assisted by practicum students.
Other Responsibilities include:
Academic advising and mentoring undergraduate students.
Curriculum development.
Departmental, college, and university service assignments.
Required Qualifications:
Earned master's degree in Kinesiology or related field prior to start date. Experience teaching courses related to Kinesiology or higher education setting. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Experience in working with students, student-athletes, Department Information: and colleagues from multi-cultural backgrounds.
