Location: Albany, NY Category: Professional Posted On: Wed Feb 18 2026 Job Description:The Internship Coordinator is a full-time, student-facing role that reports to the Director of Internships & Career Services at the College of Integrated Health Sciences. The coordinator's primary goal is to foster student success through the College's internship and field placement program while adhering to CEPH accreditation standards. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating internship and placement opportunities to satisfy required academic competency completion. Additionally, the Coordinator will provide fiscal oversight for MOU and Affiliation Agreement deliverables. This role involves collaboration with academic departments, employers, and community partners to create meaningful and impactful student learning experiences. It is ideal for an organized and detail-oriented individual passionate about public health education and student success.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Program Development and Management
- Maintain and enhance internship materials, including academic records for students and affiliation agreements for external partners.
- Develop process to review and evaluate internship documentation, including academic learning agreements and evaluations.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and program materials for program evaluation efforts and metrics, including data collection and analysis.
- Advise students and mentors through academic requirements, expectations, and responsibilities to ensure adherence to policies and procedures (approximately 2-10 times per week based on internship cycle).
- Provide fiscal oversight of internship-related funding, including MOU establishment and billing, spending plan development, and account monitoring.
- Collaborate with the Director of Internships, as well as key internal and external partners, to research, identify and vet new internship sites.
- Supervise Graduate Assistant, including planning and assignment of work.
- Participate in College-wide activities and events to support programmatic activities that serve to enhance the professional development of students and site mentors.
- Collaboration & Outreach
- Develop promotional outreach for students, faculty, site supervisors, and other external partners.
- Establish and maintain the internship program's learning management systems, portals, and website.
- Lead promotional efforts for the internship program at college-level events, such as accepted students day and orientation, or career fairs, such as APHA and NYSPHA.
- Communicate quarterly with current and prospective internship sites and supervisors.
- Oversee training and onboarding process for new and continuing internship sites.
- Student Support and Engagement
- Advise students on internship and placement opportunities for competency completion related to policies and procedures.
- Manage day-to-day operations to assist student participation and completion of required academic component.
- Provide guidance and support to students securing internship and placement opportunities, ensuring completion of required paperwork.
- Coordinate special event programming for internships and professional development while working to improve the quality of programming and services for students and partners.
- Other reasonable duties as assigned
Functional and Supervisory Relationships:
- Reports to: Director of Internships & Career Services
- May supervise employees as assigned (if no direct reports at time of filling position):
- Graduate Assistant 20 hour/week during academic year

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
- 2 years of experience with program coordination, career services, student services, or internship program management in a college or university setting
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in public health, Health Education, Health Administration, Higher Education or a closely related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
- 3 or more years of relevant professional experience in student services or higher education
- Experience working with EAB, IAS/PeopleSoft, degree auditing software, JotForm, Brightspace learning management system, or similar applications.
- Demonstrated understanding of basic public health principles, practices, and career pathways
