Location: Suwanee, GA
Position Summary:
The Department of Physician Assistant Studies at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, invites applications and nominations for the position of PA Assistant Program Director at the Suwanee Georgia Campus. This\nis an exciting opportunity to aid in the operations and direction of the\nprogram. This position will ensure educational equivalency between the\nPhiladelphia and Suwanee campuses.
Primary Assistant Program Director Responsibilities:
\t• Exercise responsibility for effective and efficient academic and administrative operations.
\t• Assist in the oversight of curriculum development and implementation.
\t• Assist in the evaluation and analysis of the curriculum and program operations.
\t• Provide guidance to staff and faculty members.
\t• Aid in the selection and orientation of new staff and faculty.
\t• Participate in the evaluation of faculty and staff performance.
\t• Assist the Program Director with annual budget planning.
\t• Contribute to the development and refinement of policies and procedures.
\t• Serve as a department liaison and establish working relationships within the PCOM community.
\t• Establish and maintain collaborative external relationships to facilitate valuable learning experiences and community relationships.
\t• Address faculty and student needs and concerns.
\t• Monitor student professional and academic progress and provide feedback as necessary.
Faculty Responsibilities:
\t• Contribute to designing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum.
\t• Deliver instruction in traditional lecture-based formats and facilitate small group learning activities.
\t• Develop learning objectives to guide student learning in the didactic and clinical phases of the program.
\t• Serve as a Course Director or Course Liaison for courses in the PA curriculum.
\t• Participate in the creation and refinement of exam questions.
\t• Evaluate student academic performance.
\t• Assist in student remediation.
\t• Evaluate research projects of clinical year students.
\t• Provide academic advisement to didactic and clinical year PA students.
\t• Assess clinical year student performance through the review of weekly assignments and observation at clinical sites.
\t• Perform ongoing evaluation of instructional faculty teaching effectiveness.
\t• Participate in the admissions process and selection of applicants to the program.
\t• Serve on select departmental and college-wide committees.
\t• Provide letters of recommendation for students and graduates upon request.
\t• Participate in student events such as student society activities, orientation, the white coat ceremony, and commencement.
\t• Attend professional conferences to enhance the delivery of student instruction and patient care.
\t• Engage in scholarly activity.
Accreditation Responsibilities:
\t• Participate in ongoing program analysis.
\t• Ensure compliance with educational objectives during the didactic and clinical phases of the program.
\t• Coordinate and facilitate the annual curriculum review.
\t• Participate in the preparation and facilitation of the annual faculty retreat.
\t• Ensure equivalency of all didactic and clinical education activities at the Philadelphia and Suwanee campuses.
Qualifications:
\t• Nationally certified (NCCPA) physician assistant.
\t• Must hold a current, valid, and unrestricted state license (or eligibility).
\t• Minimum of a Master's degree.
\t• Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience.
\t• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
\t• Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
\t• Forward-thinking and problem-solving skills.
\t• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, team environment.
