Job Description
The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in the preparation and distribution of medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient and pharmacy records in a manner consistent with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as pharmacy policies and procedures. Pharmacy Technician activities are performed under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week, 12 months a year. The Pharmacy Technician reports directly to the Pharmacy Manager.

Compensation
The salary is $45,000 – $50,550 ($21.63 – $24.30/ per hour); Salary is commensurate with experience, qualifications and level of job duties.

Required Job Qualifications:
Certifications
- Current, valid certification or provisional certification as a Pharmacy Technician from the Colorado State Board of Pharmacy
- Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
Experience
- One year of experience labeling, storing, and filling medications in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting .
Substitutions
- Completion of 500 hours of pharmacy technician training may substitute for one year of experience.

- Three years of experience labeling, storing, and filling medications in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting
- Prior retail experience restocking and facing shelves, cash-handling, customer service, and cash register experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal, listening, written, and verbal communication skills
- Task oriented, independent and team-based worker
- Comprehensive knowledge of pharmacy operations
- Strong customer service skills
- Expert in processing insurance claims, handling rejections, and prior authorizations
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Characteristics
- Proficient in using Windows-based computer programs
- Ability to analyze policies, programs, and initiatives to make recommendations for quality improvement
- Leadership experience
