Central Bucks School District seeks an experienced, future-looking Superintendent of Schools to lead one of Pennsylvania’s premier public school systems. This role presents a significant opportunity for a proven education executive to advance academic excellence, strengthen complex systems, and steward a large, high-performing district through its next chapter.
Central Bucks School District Community
Spanning more than 120 square miles in the heart of Bucks County, PA, Central Bucks School District (CBSD) is one of the largest school districts in Pennsylvania, serving approximately 17,000 students, their families and the Central Bucks community.
Students in kindergarten through 12th grade attend 23 CBSD schools across nine municipalities: Chalfont, Doylestown and New Britain boroughs, and Buckingham, Doylestown, New Britain, Plumstead, Warrington and Warwick townships.
Central Bucks employs more than 3,000 faculty and staff serving students attending 15 elementary schools, five middle schools, and three high schools.

The Opportunity
The Superintendent serves as the district’s chief executive officer and will work in close partnership with the Board of School Directors, staff, students, families, and community organizations to:
- Advance instructional excellence and continuous improvement across all schools.
- Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
- Foster inclusive, engaging, and safe learning environments.
- Ensure access, equity, and opportunity for all learners.
- Strengthen organizational effectiveness, fiscal stewardship, and community trust.
- Honor Central Bucks’ strong traditions while positioning the district for long-term success.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania Letter of Eligibility
- Doctorate strongly preferred
- Demonstrated leadership in curriculum, instruction, assessment, special education, system design, and process improvement
- Senior-level administrative experience spanning school-based leadership and district central-office responsibilities
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and supervise teams of school administrators
- Demonstrated effectiveness working with Boards of School Directors to advance district mission and priorities
Compensation, Timeline, & How to Apply
