Position Description
The Department of Information and Operations Management (INFO) at Mays Business School, Texas A&M University, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor position in the area of Information Systems, with a nine-month (September – May) academic appointment, beginning Fall, 2026.
Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the advancement of knowledge through high quality publications in leading academic journals, to teach courses with rigorous academic content at the undergraduate, masters, and/or doctoral level, and to engage in service and outreach activities that advance the educational mission of the department, the school, and the university.
The INFO Department has 23 tenured/tenure-track faculty, 10 clinical faculty, 3 lecturers, a doctoral program for OM/Supply Chain, about 500 undergraduate majors (300 IS and 200 Supply Chain), and 200 MS students. Mays Business School recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and its undergraduate, MBA, and executive programs are rated by U.S. News and World Report and Forbes as top-25 public business programs (http://mays.tamu.edu/rankings/).
The department is highly active in research. Texas A&M ranks 4th worldwide in publishing in Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, and Manufacturing and Service Operations Management from 2017-2023 (Source: UT-Dallas top 100). Collectively, the faculty hold 18 editorial positions in the top journals of the field. We are looking forward to building our IS research.
The College Station-Bryan metro area has a population of 250,000, a low cost of living (including no state income taxes), excellent schools, very low crime, and excellent health care. The College Station airport is served by American Airlines. College Station is a 1:20 drive to the Houston airport, 2 hours to the Austin airport, and 3 hours to the Dallas-Fort Worth airport.
Qualifications
Applicants for this position should possess an earned doctorate in information systems or a related field before beginning their first semester at TAMU. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrated potential for publishing high quality research in leading journals.
