Tenure-Track Faculty Positions
The Department of Computer Science in the College of Arts & Sciences at Florida State University invites applications for one tenure-track Assistant Professor position and one tenure-track open rank Professor position, both beginning in August 2027. The positions are 9-month, full-time, and benefits-eligible. We seek strong candidates in the theory, applications, or systems of AI and Data Science. For the senior faculty position, we expect experience and expertise to lead a cutting-edge research group. Focus areas include Machine Learning Systems, Foundation Models, and Multi-Agent Systems, as well as supporting domains for AI, such as Big Data Engineering, Edge Computing and Sensor Networks, High-Performance Computing, and Human-Computer Interaction. Outstanding candidates in related areas will also be considered.
The department currently has 31 tenure-track and 7 specialized faculty members and offers degrees at the BS, MS, and PhD levels, including an AI Concentration, a new MS in CyberAI, and a new BS in AI. The department is an NSA/DHS Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE/CDE) and Research (CAE-R). FSU is classified as a Carnegie R1: Doctoral Universities – Very High Research Activity and is ranked No. 17 among public universities in TIME’S America’s Best Colleges list. Its primary role is to serve as a center for advanced graduate and professional studies, with an emphasis on research and excellence in undergraduate education.
