Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent

- At least 2 years teaching at high school, technical school or in an adult learning environment or related area.

Position Summary
The Training Professional III will serve as a specialist in designing, developing, delivering, and evaluating training programs for staff (and potentially faculty) at UGA. This role will lead complex training initiatives, act as a subject matter consultant, coordinate multiple programs simultaneously, and may provide leadership or oversight to other training staff or contractors. The role supports UGA's mission and aligns with the institution's core values: Integrity, Excellence, Accountability, and Respect.

- Knowledge of and the ability to use training methodology, time management skills, and organizational skills
- Strategic mindset: ability to align training programs with institutional goals and identify long-term training needs.
- Adaptability and innovation. Keeps pace with trends in training, flips old paradigms to add value.
- Consulting orientation: able to work with managers to assess needs and design solutions.
- Ability to demonstrate, present, and teach effectively in front of groups
- Collaboration and interpersonal: work well across departments and build strong relationships.
- Ability to operate audio visual equipment
- Ability to develop teaching material utilizing Microsoft office suite (including power point, word, excel, and translator), Adobe photoshop
- Work is performed in both office and field settings.
- Be able to walk through multiple buildings and across campus for training.
- Occasionally lift up to 40 pounds and operate or assess custodial equipment.
- Early morning, evening, or weekend work for operational evaluations.

Training Program Design, Development, and Implementation:
- Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify skill gaps and training priorities.
- Design and develop instructor-led, virtual, and blended learning programs using adult learning principles.
- Create course materials, job aids, and e-learning modules tailored to UGA's workforce.
- Ensure all training programs align with university policies, compliance requirements, and strategic goals.
Percentage of time 35 Duties/Responsibilities
Program Delivery and Facilitation:
- Deliver engaging and interactive training sessions for staff at all levels of the organization.
- Facilitate workshops, seminars, and leadership development sessions in person and virtually.
- Adapt delivery methods to audiences of varying learning styles to promote engagement and knowledge retention.
Percentage of time 25 Duties/Responsibilities
Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
- Develop and apply evaluation methods (e.g., surveys, assessments, performance metrics) to measure training effectiveness.
- Analyze data to determine learning impact and recommend improvements.
- Maintain documentation and prepare reports for leadership on training outcomes, and participation.

Consultation and Strategic Support:
- Serve as an internal consultant to departments and managers to assess performance needs and recommend learning solutions.
- Advise leadership on professional development strategies to support organizational effectiveness.
- Participate in cross-functional committees or task forces related to training, development, and employee engagement.
Percentage of time 15 Duties/Responsibilities
Program Administration and Coordination:
- Manage training logistics, scheduling, registration, and communication through the Professional Educational Portal (PEP).
- Coordinate with vendors, facilitators, and campus partners for specialized training events.
Supervision and Mentoring:
- Support professional growth of junior staff through coaching and feedback.
- Ensure consistent training quality and alignment across all training programs.
