Position Summary
The DCDS Math Department has a long-standing tradition of providing students a rich and rewarding experience at all levels of our curriculum. With this hire, we seek someone capable of teaching all levels of our curriculum; however, preference will be given to candidates who can teach and have experience with post-Calculus and college-level Statistics courses. This is a full-time faculty position that will begin August 2026.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide innovative, comprehensive, and content-rich instruction designed to develop critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills within the context of mathematics instruction.
- Create varied classroom activities designed to foster student-centered learning.
- Establish an engaging, student-centered, and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and active engagement. We are a school that believes deeply in Mind, Brain, and Education science (MBE) practices, annually supports faculty professional development in this area, and is a partner school with the Center for Transformative Teaching and Learning (CTTL).
- Plan and prepare lessons in order to deliver the curriculum and enhance student understanding.
- Create and manage a caring, supportive, purposeful, and stimulating environment which is conducive to student learning.
- Identify clear teaching objectives and learning outcomes, with appropriate challenges and high expectations.
- Nurture an inclusive environment in which all students can participate fully and have a sense of belonging.
- Plan opportunities to develop the social, emotional, and cultural aspects of students’ learning.
- Provide differentiated instruction within a class when needed.
- Maintain a regular system of monitoring, assessment, record-keeping, and reporting of student’s progress.
- Serve as an advisor to a small group of students. Advisors communicate and consult with parents over all aspects of their children’s education – academic, social, and emotional.

- Candidates are expected to participate meaningfully in the DCDS community by contributing to the student experience by leading a club and/or coaching.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Mathematics or Mathematics Education; Advanced degree preferred.
- Teaching experience in grades 9 – 12 preferred.
- Proficient and enthusiastic user of technology.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Professional collegiality, a desire to grow, and enthusiasm for young people.
- Preference to candidates with coaching experience or expressed willingness to coach or direct activities.
