What You Will Do
- In close collaboration with the Director, Program Coordinator, and Participant Service Coordinator, the Veterans Outreach Coordinator establishes relationships with veteran service, social service, and educational organizations to promote the Veterans Upward Bound Program and outreach potential veteran clients.
- Conducts initial assessments with veteran clients to determine Program Eligibility and personal goals.
- Records demographic data in program date base (BLUMEN), collects eligibility documentation and moves veteran clients through the array of available services.
- Services may include, but not limited to, academic advisement, testing, tutorials (on-line and in-person), counseling through partner agencies, workshops, and campus resources.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
United States Military Veteran (Provide DD214 in attachments.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree
Comfortable working with educational software, Microsoft Windows, and Microsoft Office.
Extensive knowledge of veterans services and social service organizations within six county area.
Extensive knowledge of veterans benefits and entitlements.
Effective communicator.
Experience working with diverse populations.
Experience working with veterans is highly desirable.
Skill in exercising appropriate judgement and decision making.
Demonstrated time management, multi-tasking, and organizational skills.
