This position involves interpreting the mission and aims of the College of Nursing to plan and deliver nursing care within healthcare agencies, serving as a role model, and maintaining current clinical competency and knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical Instruction and Supervision: Provide hands-on clinical instruction and supervision to nursing students, ensuring the delivery of safe patient care. Facilitate valuable learning experiences, including the use of the nursing process and clinical judgment.
Student Orientation and Evaluation: Orient students to clinical settings, reinforcing concepts from the BSN curriculum, and helping them develop professional skills, clinical reasoning, and effective communication. Plan and assign student tasks, and guide students in acquiring necessary nursing skills. Conduct student evaluations weekly, at mid-term, and at the end of the term, providing timely feedback to promote student success.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with course faculty, healthcare agency staff, and other faculty members to ensure effective clinical learning experiences. Serve as a positive liaison between the College of Nursing and healthcare agencies, and maintain open communication with all stakeholders.
Professional Development: Attend mandatory orientation and training sessions; maintain compliance with clinical site requirements; participate in faculty meetings and ongoing program evaluation activities, as required; provide update professional portfolio annually.
