Under the supervision of the Building Principal, the position performs some or all of the following typical duties:
Assist the principal in ensuring every student's access to powerful instruction and growth.
Oversee and manage BECCA filings, tracking and notices.
Provide leadership in school-based diversity awareness and training
Oversee the athletic program and ensure compliance with district and WIAA policies and procedures.
Hire, supervise, and evaluate coaching staff.
Monitor school-wide student attendance and oversee attendance data.
Administer discipline in ways that respond to the needs and strengths of students and keep students in the classroom to the maximum extent possible.
Assist with coordination of State and District testing.
Conduct evaluations based on observation and parameters of applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements.
Act as Building liaison to parents and community and oversee coordination of parent volunteers.
Assist with school improvement planning and implementation.
Oversee selected School Improvement Plan goals.
Participate in appropriate professional development offerings as directed by principal.
Assist with mentorship of new staff.
Manage building safety procedures.
Assist with new student testing and orientation.
Assist with campus supervision.
Assist with building budget monitoring and oversight.
Assist with parent/family presentations and events.
Assist with curriculum inventories, orders and distribution.
Perform student/staff/parent support functions in absence of the principal.
Work cooperatively with other staff and administrators.
Other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience
Valid Washington State certificate with Administrative credential.
Outstanding candidates who will complete their administrative certification program within the next 6 months will be considered.
Minimum 5 years prior instructional experience; prior experience in building administration (any level) and athletics supervision a plus. ________________________________________________________________________
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to work with students, staff, parents, and other community patrons in an amiable and productive manner.
Proven ability to leverage previous professional and personal experience to mentor and support the faculty and staff.
Experienced with multi-cultural education.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the application of a variety of instructional and student management strategies for appropriate grade level.
Knowledge of high school curriculum (9-12) preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of Common Core State Standards.
Experience with UDL strongly preferred.
Demonstrated understanding of Standards Based Grading strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Federal and Washington State laws and regulations governing public schools.
