Position Summary: The Elementary Teacher (Grades 3–5) provides standards-based instruction in a general education
classroom aligned to Washington State Learning Standards. The teacher creates a positive, inclusive
learning environment that supports the academic and social development of all students. The
position involves collaboration with support staff to meet diverse learning needs, including students
receiving Title I and special education services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with elementary endorsement
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
Knowledge of elementary curriculum and instructional practices
Ability to support a diverse student population
Effective communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Successful completion of Washington State background check and fingerprinting
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience teaching Grades 3–5
Experience working in a general education classroom
Familiarity with differentiated instruction and intervention supports
Knowledge of Washington State Learning Standards
Bilingual or multilingual skills
Physical and Working Conditions
Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the instructional day
Ability to supervise students in classrooms and school settings
Work performed primarily indoors in a school environment

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum
Plan and deliver effective instruction aligned with Washington State Learning Standards
Implement district-adopted curriculum and instructional materials
Use research-based instructional strategies to support student learning
Differentiate instruction to respond to varying student skill levels
Integrate instructional technology and classroom resources appropriately
Assessment & Student Progress
Assess student learning using district and classroom-based assessments
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on data
Maintain accurate student records and grading documentation
Communicate student progress with families in a professional manner
Classroom Environment
Establish a safe, respectful, and structured classroom environment
Maintain clear expectations and consistent classroom routines
Support student engagement, responsibility, and positive behavior
Promote social-emotional growth and academic confidence
Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities
Collaborate with grade-level teams and colleagues
Work cooperatively with intervention staff and specialists as needed
Participate in professional learning communities and district trainings
Communicate effectively with families, staff, and administrators
Perform supervision and other duties as assigned
