Department: The Deans Office for College of Business and Economics within the Division of Academic Affairs is committed to leading business education through the guiding principles of program quality, balancing theory and practice, and expanding our outreach and visibility. Salary Range: $25.86 - $28.54 per hour

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Schedule will vary according to department needs. Occasional early morning, evening and/or weekend hours. This is a temporary part-time position to end on or before June 30, 2027, with a possibility of renewal on an annual basis if funds and/or program needs exist.

Essential Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration, or a job-related field plus one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level. Specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Equivalent amounts of job-related, graduate level education may be substituted for the required experience. Working knowledge of the methods and problems of organization and program management. Working knowledge of research techniques, interview techniques, and the principles of individual and group behavior. Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations, gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations. Ability to present clear and concise information orally and in written reports. Ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures and activities and the overall organization. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in liberal arts, counseling, student affairs, psychology, public administration, or a job-related field and two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or a related field. In-progress or earned master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Knowledge of academic counseling techniques and proven ability to effectively listen, advise, and counsel students on university and college program offerings, policies, procedures, and curricular requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom, Teams, Dropbox, Text Expander, and Student Information Systems such as Navigate360. Skill in maintaining effective electronic filing systems.
