Job Purpose:
The Department of Counselor Education at Gonzaga University seeks an Adjunct Faculty member to teach EDCE 551: Diversity in Counseling in the Master of Counselling program. The course focuses on multicultural counseling theories, identity development, power and privilege, systemic oppression, advocacy, and culturally responsive counseling practice. The successful candidate will support graduate students in developing ethical, reflective, and inclusive counseling competencies aligned with professional standards and Gonzaga University's Jesuit, Catholic, and humanistic mission.

Essential Functions:
- Teach EDCE 551: Diversity in Counseling according to the approved syllabus and program learning outcomes.
- Facilitate a respectful, inclusive, and interactive learning environment that promotes self-reflection, dialogue, and cultural humility.
- Prepare and deliver course materials, learning activities, and assessments aligned with multicultural counseling competencies.
- Evaluate student work using established rubrics and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Submit grades in accordance with program and university deadlines.
- Maintain regular communication with students via Canvas and university email.
- Hold limited virtual office hours or student consultation as appropriate for a 2-credit course.
- Adhere to university, departmental, and professional ethical standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in Counseling, Counselling Psychology, Counselor Education, or a closely related field.
Demonstrated knowledge of multicultural counseling theories and diversity frameworks.
Evidence of teaching, training, or professional facilitation experience with adult or graduate learners.
Ability to engage and support students from diverse backgrounds in sensitive and complex discussions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Counselor Education, Counseling Psychology, or related field.
Professional counseling licensure or eligibility (e.g., RCC, LMHC, LPC, or equivalent).
Experience teaching graduate-level diversity or multicultural counseling courses.
Familiarity with CCPA, ACA, CACREP, or CAP standards.
