Description
The Duke Regional Hospital fellowship offers a 24-month program providing comprehensive experience in hospital operations within a community hospital governed by both the Durham County Hospital Corporation and the Duke University Health System. As part of the senior leadership team, the fellow gains valuable insights into healthcare administration at a 388-bed community hospital, one of three acute care hospitals within the Duke University Health System. In the first year, the fellow works on a variety of projects while rotating through different departments of the fellows choosing. The second year focuses on a specialized experience in one department, where the fellow leads initiatives and completes projects.
Requirements
The application for the 2027-2029 fellowship cycle will open July 1, 2026, and close August 27, 2026, at 12pm EST. Please submit application materials through the link on our website. Required application materials: Current Resume/CV (2-page limit), Graduate School Transcript (Official or Unofficial), 1 Faculty Letter of Recommendation, 1 Other Letter of Recommendation, A 1-page Personal Statement answering the following: - Why did you choose healthcare administration as a career? - What makes Duke Regional Hospital the ideal place to complete your Administrative Fellowship? - What are your short term and long-term goals? Two Supplemental Essays answering the following: - Essay Topic #1 (Limit one page): At DRH, we choose to L.E.A.D from Regional—Love Your Work, Engage and Empower, Ask for Help, and Deliver Results. As an Administrative Fellow, which of these values resonates most with you, and how do you plan to demonstrate it in your role? - Essay Topic #2 (250 words max): How do you define diversity and cultural competence and its role in driving high performance in care delivery?
