- Assistant Floater Teacher
Description
The Children's Center at Arnold & Porter is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Floater Teacher to support classrooms across our early childhood education program. This full-time position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
As an Assistant Floater Teacher, you will collaborate with classroom teachers to create a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for children. You will help implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities while supporting children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. This role is ideal for an educator who is flexible, collaborative, and passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of young children.
Key Responsibilities
Support teachers in implementing curriculum and daily classroom activities.
Foster a positive, safe, and welcoming environment for children and families.
Promote children's development through engaging, age-appropriate interactions and experiences.
Assist with classroom transitions, routines, and supervision throughout the day.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and licensing requirements.
Collaborate effectively with teaching teams across multiple classrooms as needed.
Qualifications
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential required.
Previous experience working in a childcare, preschool, or early childhood education setting.
Current CPR and First Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
Ability to actively engage with children for extended periods, including participating in outdoor activities in various weather conditions.

The anticipated base salary for this position is $51,006 to $54,262. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.

As a nonexempt position, this position is eligible for overtime.
The firm may provide a discretionary bonus annually.
