The School of Management (SOM) holds separate AACSB accreditations in Business and Accounting and is nationally recognized for its success in developing future business leaders. SOM is listed as one of the top business schools among fully public institutions by Poets&Quants. The School offers bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. programs. SOM consistently ranks among the top business schools for our undergraduate and graduate business programs.
The Accounting faculty have a consistent record of scholarly achievement. Recent accounting faculty publications have appeared in Journal of Accounting Research, The Accounting Review, Contemporary Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory and Behavioral Research in Accounting.

Job Description:
The School of Management (SOM) at Binghamton University (State University of New York at Binghamton) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Accounting starting mid-August 2027, subject to budgetary approval.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce high quality research in top-tier accounting journals. To support faculty research, SOM provides summer funding for the first three years of service.
- Deliver required/elective courses in accounting at the undergraduate and/or master's levels. The standard teaching load is 2+2 per academic year.
- Contribute to the school, the university, and the professional community by providing appropriate service through involvement in committees, shared governance undertakings, curriculum development and assessment.
- Actively contribute to the intellectual environment of the area.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Accounting or a closely related field, or will have completed all degree requirements by the academic year obligation start date (August 16, 2027), including securing valid immigration status and work authorization, if applicable.
- Ability to establish a successful track record of scholarly research. This can be substantiated by providing copies of applicant's dissertation, publications, and working papers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience as evidenced by favorable teaching evaluations.
- The ability and willingness to teach Accounting Information Systems and/or Forensic Accounting.
