Description
The Gianforte School of Computing at Montana State University invites applications for two full-time tenure-track positions at the level of Assistant Professor. Duties include developing a nationally recognized, externally funded research program, teaching, developing courses, mentoring and service. Applications are encouraged from candidates whose expertise lies in priority areas of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data science, machine learning, quantum, systems and/or areas that complement existing faculty expertise. The GSoC serves approximately 400 majors, 100 minors and 70 graduate students by preparing them for computing careers and for a lifetime of learning. The GSoC offers a broad array of curricular opportunities in computing areas that include Computer Science (minor, B.S. degree, B.A. degree, M.S. degree, Ph.D. degree), Data Science (minor, B.S. degree) and Cybersecurity (M.S. degree). The GSoC is the anchor occupant of a beautiful, mass timber building that opened in Fall 2026 and contains desirable spaces that facilitate high quality research, instruction and outreach. Montana State University is located in Bozeman, Montana. The city is about 90 miles from Yellowstone National Park and offers excellent outdoor activities and a vibrant cultural community.
