- Assistant Professor of Organic Chemistry (Tenure Track)
Description
The Department of Chemistry at the University of the Pacific (Stockton, California) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in Organic Chemistry beginning Fall 2027. The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field and, preferably, postdoctoral training. Candidates with research interests in organic, medicinal, or bioorganic chemistry, or in chemical biology are encouraged to apply.
The successful candidate will join a faculty dedicated to both outstanding teaching and groundbreaking research. The candidate will teach Organic Chemistry, courses in their area of specialization at the undergraduate and graduate (M.S. and Ph.D.) levels, and General Chemistry. A start-up package will be provided, and the candidate is expected to develop a strong research program, pursue external funding, and seek collaborations across the university’s professional schools, including pharmacy, dentistry, and the planned School of Medicine. The department is committed to year-round undergraduate research and to mentoring M.S. and Ph.D. students in the Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences Program.
