Job Description:
The School of Management (SOM) at Binghamton University (State University of New York at Binghamton) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Associate Professor level starting mid-August 2027, subject to budgetary approval.
The School of Management holds separate AACSB accreditations in Business and Accounting and is nationally recognized for its success in developing future business leaders. SOM is listed as one of the top business schools among fully public institutions by Poets&Quants. The School offers bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. programs. SOM consistently ranks among the top business schools for our undergraduate and graduate business programs.
The Finance faculty at the School of Management have a consistent record of scholarly achievement and have published in high-quality journals that include Journal of Political Economy, Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Management Science, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis.
The undergraduate Finance program has earned national recognition, including being featured by The Wall Street Journal as among the finance programs for high-paying careers. All graduates of our Finance PhD program have secured placements in academic institutions.

The School seeks candidates with an established record of high-quality research in asset management and investments, particularly research with an international asset management focus. Candidates should also have a strong interest in contributing to the development of the School's proposed undergraduate program in Asset Management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide academic leadership for the proposed undergraduate program in Asset Management.
- Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in asset management, investments, and related areas.
- Support the professional development and career placement of students in the Asset Management program, including engagement with employers and industry professionals.
- Maintain an active, high-quality research program with the expectation of publishing in leading finance and related academic journals.
- Contribute to the school, university, and profession through service, including active participation in committees, shared governance, program assessment, and other appropriate professional activities.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Finance or a closely related field.
- A track record of scholarly research in Asset Management.
The salary and benefits package for this position are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
