Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
UHC Minimum:
• Master's degree in counseling, Social Work, Public Health, or related field.
• Experience developing and implementing programming tailored to young adults and recovery support.
• Relevant experience and demonstrated knowledge of recovery support and best practices.
UHC Preferred:
• Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and/or license eligible in Georgia.
• Experience working on a college/university campus or mental health setting providing alcohol and other substance misuse counseling or prevention work and early intervention services.
Position Summary
The Collegiate Recovery Community ( CRC ) Coordinator is an integral member of the Fontaine Center and reports to the Assistant Director - CRC , Prevention and Research. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating recovery support services, including student programming, case management, and recovery coaching for students in or exploring recovery from substance use and compulsive behaviors. The Coordinator fosters a supportive and connected campus environment for students in recovery by developing community-building initiatives and peer support opportunities. In collaboration with campus and community partners, this position advances a recovery-supportive campus culture through outreach, education, and training initiatives.

- Knowledge and understanding of substance misuse prevention, recovery, and relapse prevention theory and practice.
- Demonstrated knowledge of college student development and emerging needs.
- Knowledge and understanding of trauma informed care.
- Excellent organization, verbal and written communication skills.

- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with a variety of students and staff via email, telephone, and in person.
- Ability to transport lightweight equipment (computer and program materials) across campus and to off-site presentations.

Student Recovery Support and Advocacy:
- Delivers substance use education programs, including meeting with students to review personalized feedback and conduct brief motivational interviews, recovery planning, and recovery coaching.
- Provides front-line advocacy and support, including family members, faculty, and staff as appropriate.
- Connects students to resources on campus and in the community that support student recovery goals.
- Provides support and crisis management in collaboration with Fontaine Center staff and other campus partners.
- Organizes recovery support meetings and other skill-building seminars, community-building activities, and social programs.

Collaboration, Assessment, and Administration:
- Collaborates with CAPS /The Fontaine Center team to develop and implement assessment plans and generate program reports based on evaluations and program outcomes.
- Maintains program files, including applications, program data, and reports.
- Partners with the Assistant Director -CRC, Prevention, and Research, to support strategic planning efforts, including the creation of policies and procedures, goals, and objectives
- Collaborates with other schools regionally that have CRC programs to facilitate community-building opportunities and programming partnerships.
- Develops and maintains relationships with Athens community recovery support programs and campus partners.
- Works closely with CAPS /The Fontaine Center team to deliver joint programming that integrates AOD education and collegiate recovery into broader mental health and health promotion initiatives.
