The Computer Science Teacher will be responsible for teaching high school-level computer science courses, including AP Computer Science Principles and Computing Ideas. The teacher will demonstrate his/her subject matter expertise and instructional experience through developing, implementing, and assessing curriculum aligned to state and national standards for secondary education in computer science.
Primary duties include the following:
Teach AP Computer Science Principles, an introductory college-level computing course covering: Programming and algorithm development. Data analysis and computing system fundamentals. Computing innovations and their societal impacts. Ethical and collaborative computing practices. Teach Computing Ideas, an introductory computer science course covering: Fundamentals of block-based and text-based programming. Web design and digital information representation. Internet data transmission. Development of a student portfolio website. Design and implement rigorous curricula and instructional activities that meet or exceed academic standards. Drive academic outcomes by analyzing student performance data and adapting instruction for
targeted improvement. Create formative and summative assessments aligned to learning objectives. Utilize assessment data to inform and refine instructional practices. Develop positive relationships with students and parents to build investment in academic and school culture. Collaborate with fellow teachers to maintain consistent instructional structures across grade levels. Participate in professional development, collaborative planning, school-wide functions, and curriculum development.
Serve as an advisor to a cohort of students, providing academic and social-emotional support.

Requirements
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or foreign equivalent, plus 1 year or teaching experience.
