Location: Albany, NY Category: Research Foundation Careers Job Type: Full-time Posted On: Tue May 19 2026 Job Description:The Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD Albany) is currently seeking an energetic, motivated individual with experience in autism spectrum disorders. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with school teams throughout NYS to implement effective educational programs, which includes providing training in multiple delivery formats (i.e., small group, large group, online) to varied audiences. This position also includes working cooperatively with parents through special events and programs for children with autism and their families.
The position requires proficiency in the field of autism, including knowledge of core components of the disorder and how they impact learning/behavior; best practices in educating students with autism; evidence-based intervention approaches; and positive behavior support.
Essential Functions
- Develop and deliver education/training programs related to best practices in autism spectrum disorders for school personnel, families, and community professionals throughout New York State (i.e., research relevant training topics, create training presentations
- Develop participant handouts, evaluate trainings); prepare and disseminate training materials (i.e., brochures, flyers)
- Participate in Center training activities (i.e., annual conferences, distinguished guest lecture series, family seminars) and family programs (i.e., social and recreational community activities)
- Provide technical assistance/consultation to school personnel, families, and community professionals via phone, email, virtual, onsite (i.e., autism awareness activities, school and/or community settings)
- Participate in professional development activities specific to autism (i.e., attend conferences or seminars, read publications in the field)
- Complete administrative duties associated with education/training and technical assistance/consultation
- Assist with administrative duties that facilitate operation of Center programs (i.e., phone calls, emails, photocopying, mailing)
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications :
- Master's degree in psychology, education, special education, school psychology, social work or related field from a college or university accredited by a USDOE or internationally recognized accrediting organization
- Experience working with children/youth with autism; ability to travel in NYS
- Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community and demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging, relative to their role
- Successful candidates will have excellent organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work independently
- Be highly motivated, results-oriented, and able to prioritize team efforts
- Work well with colleagues and be able to meet deadlines
- Candidates must possess knowledge of Microsoft Office, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Candidates must address in their applications their experience working with children/youth with autism and their ability to work with culturally diverse populations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience providing training to school personnel and parents
- 3-5 years experience working with children with autism in public school settings.
Additional Information:
Salary Range : $60,000-70,000 (DOE)
