ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
LOCATION: Webster Elementary School
CONTRACT: Full-time, 211-day Contract
LICENSURE: Wis. Department of Public Instruction Certification #5051 - Principal
START DATE: July 1, 2026
The Watertown Unified School District (WUSD) has an excellent opportunity for an experienced school
administrator to serve as Principal at Webster Elementary School. As part of the WUSD leadership team, the
selected candidate will help to further the WUSD mission to serve our students by providing educational
opportunities to promote academic excellence and a lifelong love of learning and to lead families, students
and staff in realizing the WUSD vision of inspired learners through student-centered education strengthened by community involvement.

- Possessing knowledge and experience with Special Education programs:
- Familiarity with the CESA 6 Educator Effectiveness model;
- A demonstrated vision of learning using a student first, data-driven approach;
- Proven leadership, dedication, and commitment in developing a collaborative team effort among staff, including developing appropriate School Learning Objectives;
- Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills that promotes educational professionalism with students, parents, and community;
- Experience in fostering a climate and culture that supports learning and positive behavior;
- Ability to organize professional development at the school and district levels;
- Facilitation of vertical curriculum alignment;
- Background in Professional Learning Community (PLC);
- Background in Data Literacy - Using assessment data (STAR Math and Reading Inventories) to evaluate and narrow gaps among student sub-groups;
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enhancing and expanding the success of Webster Elementary students through superior leadership.
- Supporting and improving the quality of the school’s culture and performance in alignment with the WUSD Strategic Plan and district and school goals.
- Collaborating with staff and leadership
- Identification, development, and implementation of district and building goals and curriculum;
- Preparation of administrative reports including budget documents, state and federal reports.
- Recruitment and retention of motivated, qualified staff including assigning and training staff, evaluating performance and providing professional development opportunities.
- Establishing, supervising, and maintaining student attendance and discipline;
- Planning, organizing, and directing the implementation of building activities;
- Assuming responsibility for health and safety of students and staff;
- Problem solving and conflict resolution at the building level.

The Watertown School District has an enrollment of approximately 3,000 students taught in seven buildings. Webster Elementary School has a long tradition of providing exemplary education to the Watertown community and currently serves 415 students with 40 staff members.
THE COMMUNITY: The Watertown community has 24,000 residents and is located on the Rock River approximately halfway between Madison and Milwaukee, at the junction of Highways 16, 19, and 26.
