About the College/Unit/Department
The Office of Student Financial Aid ( OSFA ) manages and executes the financial aid operations, programs, and processes for the campus. OSFA oversees the administration of federal, state, and institutional aid provided to the UGA student body. With approximately 42 employees OSFA has responsibility for all financial aid received by the UGA student body in the form of grants, scholarships, loans, and work programs. OSFA annually administers in excess of $500 million in student financial aid for UGA students.

Position Summary
Assists with enrollment-related financial aid processes to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, including Course Program of Study ( CPOS ), enrollment reporting, and repeat coursework requirements. Answers questions for students and campus partners concerning enrollment-related financial aid processes and student financial aid. Serve as generalist/backup for other office areas during peak or exceptional times. Work detailed financial aid reports. Remain current regarding federal, state and university financial aid regulations, policies and procedures.

- Works with students, the Office of the Registrar, and the academic advising community to ensure proper course programs for payment.
- Determines financial aid eligibility based on enrollment for financial aid applicants and prospective students.
- Ensures all area reports are processed and completed accurately and in a timely manner to ensure optimum customer service.

Duties/Responsibilities
- Serve as office generalist and provide backup work during peak volume and/or exceptional periods when service, processing, or other administrative duties are backlogged or in high demand.
- Maintain working knowledge of processes and service in order to accurately award and revise student financial aid in accordance with relevant policies and procedures, process and work timely numerous and complex reports with discerning the necessary action(s), monitor relevant systems (e.g., BANNER , Common Origination and Disbursement ( COD ), National Student Loan Data System ( NSLDS ), College HOPE Eligibility Calculation Service ( CHECS ), etc.) for changes to students' aid eligibility and revise or cancel financial aid awards as necessary.
- Advise accurately and efficiently students and parents who call, visit, or email the office regarding financial aid information and processes throughout lifecycle of financial aid application through receipt of aid funds and after.
- Provide assistance to students, families, and colleagues in completing financial aid processes.
- Maintain a working knowledge of relevant student information and financial aid processing systems.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of student and family data and information. Maintain security of student records and related information.
