Overview
The School of Social Work seeks outstanding applicants who will advance the School's mission as leaders in scholarship, education, and service for communities in Michigan, the United States, and across the world. We seek a distinguished faculty member whose work advances knowledge and solutions to problems of housing insecurity and homelessness, to be appointed as the inaugural holder of the Lico Family Professorship in the School of Social Work.
Job Summary
The Lico Family Professorship was given to the School of Social Work to expand the School’s expertise in innovative solutions to problems of homelessness and housing insecurity that pose barriers to health, wellness, and full social and community inclusion. For the inaugural holder of the Lico Professorship, the School of Social Work seeks an exceptional mid-career or senior scholar with an established research program aimed at informing and driving innovation in policy and programs at the national, state, and local levels by leveraging new technologies, including but not limited to artificial intelligence. Potentially exciting avenues could include, but are not limited to, community-engaged research and multi-sector capacity building, inter-agency data integration, digital therapeutic tool development, resource optimization for housing services, and development and scaling of innovative initiatives in affordable housing development, job creation and placement, and eviction prevention.
We seek candidates with a strong interdisciplinary and collaborative orientation, the capacity to mentor early-career scholars and doctoral students, a strong record of extramural funding, and an exceptional portfolio of publications and evidence of impact through dissemination or influence on policy or practice. Required qualifications include holding a PhD in social work or a related discipline and accomplishments commensurate with a tenured appointment at Associate or Professor level. Preferred qualifications include a degree in social work (MSW or PhD).
