Position Summary:
Temporary Full-Time Non-Tenure Track Faculty (Remote) - Quantitative Research Methodologist for the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership Program.
Position Summary: The Non-Tenure Track Faculty Member (Quantitative Research Methodologist) serves in a fully remote capacity supporting the Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) program in Educational Leadership. This position focuses on teaching doctoral-level quantitative research methodology courses and providing high-quality methodological support to doctoral students engaged in dissertation research.
The faculty member works closely with students and dissertation committees to support the development, implementation, and completion of practitioner-focused research, and contributes to program quality through teaching, mentoring, and service. This is a temporary, non-tenure-track, 12-month appointment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as instructor of record for doctoral-level quantitative research methodology courses delivered in an online format via Canvas
- Facilitate engaging, high-quality online learning experiences aligned with college and university standards for distance education
- Provide timely, substantive, and constructive feedback on student work
- Maintain consistent communication and presence in asynchronous and/or synchronous course environments
- Provide individualized quantitative methodological guidance to doctoral students across all phases of the dissertation process
- Serve as either a dissertation chair or quantitative methodologist on dissertation committees
- Collaborate effectively with dissertation chairs and committee members to support student progress
- Support ethical and rigorous research practices, including IRB and data integrity standards
- Maintain active graduate faculty status in accordance with university policies
- Participate in program and college faculty meetings (virtual)
- Contribute to program initiatives, including curriculum development and assessment
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
• Strong expertise in quantitative research design and methodology.
• Proficiency in SPSS (required) and R, STATA, or SAS (preferred).
• Knowledge of multivariate regression and statistical methods.
• Ability to communicate complex statistical concepts clearly.
• Experience supporting diverse graduate students in online environments.
• Commitment to advocating for the learning and development needs of students earning their degrees in a distance learning environment; supervising/supporting student research at the graduate level.
General Days/Hours:
Primarily Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Central Time with additional hours as requested and/or needed.
Regular and reliable attendance.
Faculty are expected to provide timely feedback (typically within 24 hours), maintain availability for doctoral students, and support a flexible schedule including evening or limited weekend engagement.

This position has been identified as a telecommuting position. The duties are performed during standard work hours of 8am-5pm at a predefined and approved work location. Individuals filling this role must have dedicated work space that provides privacy and security related to the work being performed. Additionally, individuals must have secure internet access with appropriate upload/download capabilities to perform the duties associated with the position. Individuals in this position will be required to review and acknowledge the Telecommuting Guidelines and Telecommuting Agreement for A-State.
Location Requirement: To be considered for this position, candidates must reside in Arkansas or a state that shares a border with Arkansas (Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Missouri, or Oklahoma. This residency requirement supports team collaboration, regional knowledge, and occasional in person engagement as needed.
Technology and Remote Work Expectations:

• Maintain regular virtual presence
• Adhere to FERPA and data security policies
Additional Information:
This position emphasizes teaching and doctoral support. There are no formal research publication requirements; however, scholarly engagement is encouraged where appropriate and required to obtain/maintain Graduate Faculty Status.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Doctoral degree from an accredited university with a focus on Psychometrics, Research, Statistics, Analytics, or a related field
• Experience teaching graduate-level courses
• Experience serving on dissertation committees
• Experience with distance learning environments
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience chairing dissertations
• Experience with Ed.D. programs or Dissertation in Practice
• Experience teaching or designing courses in Canvas
