Ballinger | Leafblad is honored to partner with the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Foundation on the search for its next President. The Foundation is the philanthropic engine behind the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, a university consistently ranked among the top ten public institutions in the Midwest and home to 9,000 students. With assets exceeding $180 million, including nearly $90 million in endowment funds, the Foundation secures and stewards the private support that advances UWEC's mission. That support underwrites scholarships, faculty-student research, athletics, and capital projects that shape the campus.
The President serves as the Foundation's chief executive, shaping philanthropic strategy and standing alongside the Chancellor with the University's most significant donors. As UW-Eau Claire enters its next era under a new Chancellor and a forthcoming twenty-year campus master plan, the next President will have the opportunity to shape what the University can afford to imagine. This is a rare chance to lead at the intersection of philanthropy, higher education, and community development.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred
- Minimum five years of demonstrated success in a leadership position at a complex nonprofit or business entity
- Demonstrated success building strategic partnerships to further an institutional mission
- Experience working with diverse populations
- Experience working with a university or related foundation
- Experience leading strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives
- Knowledge of fundraising and foundation best practices
- Business and financial management experience, including budgeting and resource allocation
- Ability to leverage technology, data, and CRM systems to support decision-making
- Familiarity with UW-Eau Claire, the Chippewa Valley, and Wisconsin — or a strong desire to become engaged in the region and university community
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
The salary range for this position is $185,000–$215,000. Full benefits details are available in the position profile.
WHERE THE WORK HAPPENS
This is an in-person role based on the UW-Eau Claire campus in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, with flexible hours including some evenings and weekends for donor events, campus activities, and community engagement, plus travel.
