Description
The Physics Department at Princeton University is seeking applicants for postdoctoral and more senior research positions. The position is available in Professor Ali Yazdani's group. The successful candidate will be working on a wide range of problems in condensed matter physics using scanning probe microscopy techniques in the study of two-dimensional (2D) material systems and their stacks.
The term of appointment is based on rank. Positions at the postdoctoral rank are for one year with the possibility of renewal pending satisfactory performance and continued funding; those hired at a more senior ranks may have multi-year appointments.
The position is subject to the University's background check policy.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship of an H-1B visa requiring consular processing; other visa sponsorships (including H-1B visas not requiring consular processing) may be available, as appropriate.
Qualifications
The candidate must have a Ph.D. in physics or related discipline and several years of experience in research in low temperature experimental condensed matter physics. Candidates with experience in either scanning probe microscopy or 2D devices' fabrication and measurements would be considered. The successful candidate will work in collaborative teams and is expected to mentor more junior scientists.
