Description
Position DescriptionSeattle City Light is seeking a Senior Training & Education Coordinator to join the Workforce Education and Engagement team within the Employee Development, Equity, and Belonging Division of the People and Culture Business Unit. In this role, you will help shape the learning experience of our workforce by designing, coordinating, and delivering high-impact safety training learning experiences.
You will collaborate closely with leaders, subject matter experts, and teams across the utility and other City departments to ensure our training efforts align with organizational needs and support employee growth. This position plays a key role in driving professional development initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
This role requires the ability to work onsite a minimum of three (3) days per week and to thrive in open, collaborative work environments. Job Responsibilities
- Training Coordination: Design, deliver, and evaluate safety training programs that align with organizational priorities and compliance requirements.
- Collaboration & Relationship Building: Build strong partnerships with leaders, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to ensure training supports business goals.
- Project & Program Management: Lead complex training initiatives from concept through implementation, ensuring timelines, resources, and budgets are effectively managed.
- Employee Development: Assess workforce development needs and implement solutions that support employee growth at all stages of the employee lifecycle.
- Continuous Improvement: Measure training effectiveness, analyze results, and recommend enhancements that strengthen learning outcomes.
- Budget Management: Manage training budget to ensure high-quality, cost-effective program delivery.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications In addition to the skills and experience mentioned, a successful applicant will have experience that reflects a commitment to creating fair and equitable outcomes and has: Experience: Three years professional experience in adult training/education administration, training project management, and/or educational consulting. Education: Bachelor's Degree in Education, Social Science, Business or Public Administration, or a related field (Other combinations of education, training and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability). License: Requires a State of Washington driver's license or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire. Desired Qualifications - You will be successful if you have the following experience, skills, and abilities:

- Demonstrated experience designing and evaluating effective training programs.
- Proven ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with leaders, teams, and subject matter experts.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and support a diverse workforce.
- Solid background in project and program management, with the capacity to balance multiple priorities and initiatives.
- Exceptional time management skills.
- Familiarity with safety protocols training practices, ideally within a utility, public sector, or energy-related environment.
- Experience in public service or working with unionized environments.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).

Your participation is required and vital to helping the utility stay prepared and serve our community when it matters most.
The full salary range for this position is $47.39 to $55.19 per hour.
