Special Education Teacher (Middle School)

Queensbury Union Free School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate full-time Special Education Teacher to join our Middle School team beginning September 1, 2026.

Minimum Starting Salary: $52,255
Actual salary based on education and experience.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess valid New York State Special Education certification in one of the following:

• Students with Disabilities (All Grades)
• Students with Disabilities (Grades 16)
• Students with Disabilities (Grades 59)
• Students with Disabilities (Grades 712) Generalist or Content Specialist

Position Responsibilities

This position includes a combination of:

• Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT)
• Consultant Teacher Services
• Resource Room Instruction

The successful candidate will:

• Develop engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of learners.
• Implement IEPs and provide individualized instruction.
• Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation.
• Collaborate with teachers, specialists, administrators, and families.
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Participate in student support teams, professional development, and school initiatives.
• Help students achieve New York State learning standards and reach their full potential.
