Position Summary
The position is responsible for administrative oversight of the university-wide course approval process system ( CAPA ) and the Public CV and Syllabus System, including providing guidance and responding to inquiries and technical help requests from campus users of both systems. The CAPA system includes all approved courses taught at the University of Georgia and includes an online workflow process that is accessed by all faculty. The Public CV and Syllabus System is accessed by all faculty to post their syllabi and CVs each semester to ensure these documents are available for all students to access in the UGA Bulletin. The position requires a high-level of technical expertise and extensive knowledge of university policies and procedures. The position also manages the course approval process. The position is expected to perform duties with a high-level of autonomy, independence, and discretion and the ability to make judgement calls.

Course Approval System ( CAPA ) Management
- Serve as the primary administrator for the CAPA system.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications of solutions within the CAPA system.
- Maintain and update the CAPA system and related web pages as necessary.
- Provide technical training for CAPA users, including preparation of training materials, coordination of training sessions, and conducting training sessions.
- Serve as the subject matter expert concerning data.
- Manage the technical integration between the CAPA system and student information systems such as DegreeWorks and Banner, including analysis, review, and resolving issues and entering, modifying, and validating course data in the student information system.
- Manage access and user database for the CAPA system. Responsible for the CAPA User Management system and adding new users to CAPA , removing users that should no longer have access to CAPA , and updating user information.
- Provide guidance on development and technical improvements to the CAPA system.
- Provide information and assist with questions related to curriculum issues and interpretation of curriculum policy.
- Manage the CAPA departmental email account.
- Respond to questions via phone and email from departments, schools, and colleges concerning curriculum policy and completion of curriculum forms.

- Provide support for faculty governance committees at the University of Georgia by assisting the Associate Vice President for Instruction and Registrar and the University Curriculum Committee.
- Provide guidance to faculty University Curriculum Committee and subcommittees related to the course approval process.
- Process and review new course and course change proposals in CAPA .
- Review proposals for compliance with UGA and BOR policies.
- Correspond with faculty, deans, and directors to address problems.
- Submit course proposals to appropriate University Curriculum Committee subcommittees.
- Approve new courses and course changes in CAPA and prepare courses for integration into Banner.
