Vice Chair for Education, Mass General Brigham Department of Emergency Medicine
The Mass General Brigham Department of Emergency Medicine is recruiting a Vice Chair for Education (VCE). The VCE will work under the direction of the Department Chair and Executive Vice Chair and in collaboration with other departmental Vice Chairs, Division Chiefs, and Center Directors to provide overall vision, leadership, and coordination of the Department’s diverse educational portfolio. This includes a robust residency program, medical student clerkships, fellowships, continuing medical education, and other educational efforts.
The successful candidate for this full-time position must have an MD/DO, residency training and board certification in emergency medicine, and a history of educational leadership, ideally of a residency program. The ideal candidate will have fellowship training or advanced degree in education and a successful record of mentorship of learners and junior faculty in educational leadership. The VCE will work clinically at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- MD/DO with at least 5-10 years of educational leadership.
- Ability to communicate to other specialties and administration to support emergency medicine goals in education.
- Ability to foster relationships between contributing departments and Harvard Medical School to develop a multi-disciplinary approach to education.
The position is eligible for an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School at a rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, commensurate with experience, achievement, recognition, and teaching.
